Pinterest seems like so much work. Is there a regular posting schedule I should have and do I have to brand everything I post with my own brand? Really how do I get Pinterest to work for me?

Pinterest can be overwhelming.

A good time to post on Pinterest is 11 AM. There is a lot of data and research to support this that you can easily find by searching for best posting times on Google.

If you have a Pinterest business account you have analytics that can answer that question specifically for your account.

It is recommended that you follow the 80/20 rule with Pinterest Marketing. You can pin 80% of other people’s content and 20% of your own content. When you pin your own content on Pinterest it is best to brand it. Always include a call to action to all content posted on Pinterest and give readers actionable information. He also includes a simple download and lead magnets to include to which gets a lot of repins.

Every single repin on Pinterest is a backlink. Those backlinks are worth gold.

One repin can get way more traction than one post on Facebook or tweet.

50-100 repins from a single piece of content can help your website to rank higher on Google and quadruple your website traffic.

Pinterest is highly ranked on Google. Often websites and pins will both rank on Google.

Pinterest business accounts are free of charge.

Process for writing a pin:

  • Keyword research using a keyword tool
  • Look at the highest search volume, highest competition, and cost per click
  • Based on those three pieces of criteria you made a decision on what keywords to use in your blog post.
  • Then write the blog post off of those keywords.
  • If you have WordPress you use Yost or Allin one SEO plug. It helps you write it toward and SEO initiative.
  • Then you use the same keyword in the description and title of your pin.

If we are looking in the business manager what is one piece of data we would look at to see if we are gaining traction?

Compare your repins with your impressions. If you are getting a lot of repins, but not a lot of visits or it is not showing up at lot then that tells you something needs to change with that pin.
